Frequently asked questions
Will this hurt my Gmail deliverability?
No. Fwalla sends at conservative daily caps (default 20/day, tunable up to 40) with randomized send times inside business hours, from your own Gmail account. That’s how real job seekers send — not a burst of 500 templated emails at 8am.
Can Fwalla read my inbox?
No. Fwalla connects to Gmail using an app password you generate in your Google account. It uses that password for SMTP (sending) only — it does not connect over IMAP and never fetches your inbox. You can revoke access instantly by deleting the app password in your Google account settings.
Why an app password instead of Google Sign-In / OAuth?
Google’s OAuth verification for third-party Gmail apps is slow and heavy. App passwords are Google’s official mechanism for third-party clients (Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Outlook desktop all use them) and take about two minutes to set up. You stay in full control — revoking is one click in your Google account, no support ticket, no waiting.
Is cold-emailing recruiters against Gmail’s terms of service?
No. Gmail’s TOS restricts spam and bulk unsolicited marketing. Personalized 1:1 outreach to a named recruiter about a specific role is exactly what recruiters expect from candidates. Fwalla’s daily caps and pacing keep you well inside acceptable-use limits.
Do I need a paid Google Workspace account?
No. Fwalla works with any free @gmail.com account or Google Workspace mailbox. Most users send from a personal Gmail while job-searching.
How much does Fwalla cost?
Fwalla is free while you’re job-hunting. No credit card required to sign up.
How is this different from Instantly, Smartlead, or Apollo?
Those are sales-outbound tools priced at $59–$149/month per seat, tuned for volume and cold sequencing to leads. Fwalla is built specifically for a job seeker sending careful, personalized outreach to recruiters — same core mechanics, no sales-team pricing, and pacing tuned for deliverability from a single personal mailbox.
